Sediment transport in the Friesche Zeegat basin : field survey of 1991
Four surveys during neap as well as spring tide conditions were carried out with four vessels at the same time during one tidal period of 13 hours. The measurements were located at 8 different positions, divided over the channels Pinkegat at the inlet, the Zoutkamperlaag at the inlet and the Gat van Schiermonnnikoog. From each ship vertical profiles of velocity, sand concentration, turbidity (mud), temperature and salinity were measured by sampling at 6 up to 9 levels in the water column. The current and sediment profiles were extrapolated to the bottom and the surface. Furthermore data on wind, waves, bed material and bed topography were collected
