Hydrological modeling in the River Rhine Basin : final report
Previous methods for the estimation of floods have several disadvantages. Therefore a new approach will be developed that bases upon the precipitation as the source of the discharge generation. The Royal Meteorological Institute of the Netherlands KNMI elaborates a stochastic precipitation generator for the River Rhine Basin. The computed precipitation will be the input for the precipitation-runoff-model HBV, which is developed by the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute SMHI. The first step here is made by calibrate the HBV model for the German portion of the River Rhine and the River Moselle.
