Dissolved butyltins in fresh and marine waters of the Netherlands in 1989
Concentrations of dissolved Tributyltins (TBT), Dibutyltin (DBT) and Monobutyltin (MBT) (organotin compounds) varied at different places in 26 different harbours and marinas in the Netherlands in 1989. Concentrations of the dissolved butyltins increased in April and May due to the launching of freshly painted boats and decreased afterwards in the marina Colijnsplaat. A sudden increase in the concentration of TBT and DBT was found in his marina in October, probably caused by desorption from algae.
