Evaluation and fine-tuning of a procedure for statistical analysis of beach litter data

This report statistically explores the OSPAR beach litter data, and gives recommendations on the optimized data analysis of this type of data. Trend analysis using the Mann Kendall method appears to be overall the most useful method. Several recommendations were given to correctly handle some specific data properties, such as the use of item clusters when necessary.
