Archimedes II experiment : remote sensing of oil spills : (final subreport) : North Sea experiment October 1985
The primary aim of the experiment was to test the general ability of different remote sensing systems to detect, to classify, and to quantify oil spills on the sea surface and submerged or suspended oil. This test was a continuation of earlier experiments which took place under perfect weather conditions and to classify questions arising from the first Archimedes experiment. The Archimedes II experiment was carried out over the German continental shelf concerning the first of October 1985 and lasting two days.
