Kosten-baten beschouwingen ten behoeve van het ontwerpen van hydrologische meetnetten = Cost-benefit considerations for the design of hydrometric networks
The aim of a network of gauging stations is to produce information about a hydrological variable. It might be possible to arrive at a maximum information content by a very dense, thus expensive network. On the other hand a less dense network will lead to a certain loss ofinformation, but against lower cost. The best solution is found, if the sum of information loss and network costs shows a minimum. An appendix titled 'Network for water level measurements in the Netherlands is included
