EUROCOR : European Urban Corridor Control : project V 2017 : deliverable 11A, workpackage W.P. 6.2 : experimental results and comparative analysis
This report consists of an executive summary and the report "An assessment of multiple ramp metering on the Amsterdam ring-road". It describes the effects of ramp metering on four locations at the A10-West (RW10) in Amsterdam by comparing the ZERO situation (before the installation of three of the four ramp meters) with situations where at every ramp metering system the RWS strategy or the ALINEA strategy was functioning. The performance of the ALINEA-strategy was good: a reduction of delays by 19% for all traffic on the motorway and the on-ramps. For the RWS control strategy traffic conditions have worsened with respect to the ZERO-situation.
