Hydraulic aspects of the dimensioning of geosystems

A review of literture related to geosystems has been carried out with respect to calculation methods for the dimensioning of geosystems. The following geosystems have been described in more detail: floating screens, bottom screens and inflatable dams. Floating and bottom screens are made of a synthetic geotextile and kept in position by anchor cables. Inflatable dams are made of a synthetic geomembrane and they are filled with water or with air. Simple calculation methods for the forces and deformations in screens and membranes have been presented. Some field experiences with geosystems have been evaluated.
