WIM-HAND project - 1st interim report : results of the first phase of the project 'Weigh-in-Motion for direct Enforcement'
In the project WIM-HAND - Weigh in Motion for direct enforcement one is investigating whether existing technology can be used for building an axle load measuring system that can be employed for automatic enforcement of overloading by heavy goods vehicles. This report contains the background, reason, definition of the problem, objective and starting points of the projects. It also describes the results of the first phase of the project, the preliminary investigation. The main subjects of the preliminary investigation were; the design of the sensor array for the test location and the set-up of a test and calibration programme. This report serves as a record of the results of the preliminary investigation so far and also serves as a basis for the continuation of the project.
