A bird's eye view of the shipping traffic on the North Sea
Goes into the VONOVI-project: North Sea traffic analysis by visual identification (Verkeers Onderzoek Noordzee Visuele Identificatie). The objective of this project was to create a data bank to thoroughly analyse shipping traffic on the North Sea by means of airplane observation flights. This report presents the route data and six density maps. It describes the observation method and the method of dataprocessing and analysis. A great deal of attention has been given to the value one should place upon the data presented and the data yet to be presented.
