Baseline study on intersex in Littorina littorea with recommendations for biological TBT assessment criteria : final report

This study aims to amend the assessment criteria for biological TBT effects in the dog whelk Nucella lapillus, which were presented at the SIME 2001 meeting. In extension to these already proposed assessment criteria in N. lapillus, a baseline study on intersex in the periwinkle Littorina littorea was performed to develop comparable assessment criteria on the background of the new EU Water Framework Directive (WFD).
