INCARNATION (Identification of administrative and organistional barriers and the assessment of informational and organisational requirements and functionalities of an efficient inland navigation information system with special regard to transport capacity

INCARNATION aims to enhance both the navigation safety and the reliability of waterborne transport. The basic concept is to improve the on board information available to skippers and the information available to parties involved in logistics: information on the tactical traffic image, information on the environment (Fairway Information Service FIS: lock times, weather, maximal possible draughts of vessels etc.), information on logistics (River Information Service RIS: present location and expected arrival of cargo etc.). This report describes the whole INCARNATION project.
