Relationships between short-term and long-term toxicity studies with the zebrafish, Danio Rerio, exposed to compounds with different modes of action
During exposure of organisms to toxicants, different life-history traits dan be influenced, depending on the mode of action of the toxicant, but also on the life history of the test organism. A certain life trait does not need to be the most sensitive during the entire life cycle of the organism. Depending on the life stage in which the organism is present, other life traits may become more susceptible, or may have more severe effects on the population growth rate.
