Soil physical schematisation of the catchment area of the river Vecht
The catchment area of the river Vecht was schematized soil physically using three soil maps as basic documents. The different soil maps were merged to one soil map of the total catchment area. The latter soil map was transformed to a soil physical map using the waterretention and hydraulic conductivity characteristics as presented in the Staring Series. The final map which distinguishes 25 soil physical units provides relevant soil physical information when working at a scale of 1 : 250 000 or smaller. The nature of the three different soil maps resulted in a soil physical map that reflects the differences in the original data.
