High-strenght concrete in civil engineering practice in the Netherlands = l'Utilisation du beton a hautes performance aux Pays-Bas dans le secteur des ponts et chaussees : Bijdrage aan: 4th International Symposium on Utilisation of High-strenght/High-per

In the Netherlands, in the period 1992-1995, experience was gained in using high-strength concrete in strength classes B65 (C57) to B105 (92). After several experiments, this type of concrete is now being applied successfully in bridge structures. A great deal of experience was attained in production, handling and curing of the fresh high strength concrete. Concrete properties and shrinkage due to heat development and the hydration were studied during the hardening process. Results are reported of a study of applications of high strenght concrete in slab viaducts and box girders. Today, a high strength concrete balanced cantilever motorway bridge with a main span of 160 m is under construction.
