Effects of cadmium and PCBs on reproduction of the sea star Asterias rubens = Effecten van cadmium en PCBs op de voortplanting van de zeester Asterias rubens

The aim of the study was to describe the effects of long-term cadmium or PCB exposure on the reproduction of sea stars and to get more insight in the possible mechanisms which are responsible for the these effects. Special attention was given to the presence of detoxification systems in the sea star. In most of the experiments, sea stars were exposed for several months to relatively low concentrations of toxicants.
