Successful strategies of logistics service providers for creating competitive advantage through using information technology : the case of the Netherlands
There is a trend that shippers are reconsidering the whole logistic production distribution system and that they are no longer expecting a transport only service, but are seeking complete logistic solutions. To develop from operational transportation firms to fully equipped on-line control companies that deliver extensive logistic services, requires quite a metamorphose. This paper describes strategies that logistical service providers can follow in order to avoid threats and make full advantage of existing possibilities, using information technology (IT).
