Estimating confidence regions for Weibull parameters and quantiles
The selected method is maximum likelihood fitting of a conditional 2-parameter Weibull distribution to the storm maxima of significant wave height exceeding a threshold for a range of threshold values . The present study compares several methods to assess the accuracy of such estimates, i.e., to estimate confidence regions of Weibull parameter estimates and estimates of the 10- 4/yr quantile.
