The way of making selections in the decision support module of Seabel

This report describes a selection of response methods for all kind of accidents with chemicals at sea, module IV of Seabel. The selection depends on several criteria based on the description of the accident. In a database there is made a link between the response methods and criteria by using a binair code. By making these selections there is made use of: descriptions of the criteria; a list of all basic accident situations with chemicals at sea with corresponding drawings, descriptions and criteria; descriptions of the response methods. The contents of the database has been tested by running two scenario's: the historical spill of chlorine gascylinders and the recent happening with the chemicaltanker the "Anna Broere". The results make conclude that the database must be frequently tested.
