This technical report WP01 is a reference document for the work to be done in the INDRIS (Inland Navigation Demonstrator for River Information Services) project. The INDRIS project can be divided in two main phases: functional definition of the RIS concept and standardisation of communication and data, preparation and execution of the demonstrators. The technical report describes projects and systems which are relevant for one or both phases of the INDRIS project, and that deal with traffic information and traffic management (vessel traffic services VTS).
