Trial programme : oil booms, skimmers
The contingency organization of the North Sea Directorate is to run trials with oil booms and skimmers. The programme consists of handling, deplaying and positioning booms; boom towing manoeuvres in various configurations; hand skimmers; use of skimmers in conjunction with booms and pumping oil to storage tanks.
