The Zuiderzee project : an extreme case of human intervention in a part of the delta of the Rhine
This paper deals especially with the changes in the Zuiderzee after the project has started. The first part deals with the changes in fishery and in the natural ecosystem of the Zuiderzee as well as with landtransformation concerning agriculture, woodland and recreation. The second part is dedicated to the urbanization in the IJsselmeerpolders and to the effects it has on soil, water, plants and animals.
