Simulation of the revetment experiments performed in the large wave channel in Hannover
Model tests performed in de Large Wave Channel of the University of Hannover were simulated with STEENZET/1. Two different revetment models were simulated, a block revetment on granular filter on sand and a block revetment on a geotextile on sand. The results for the revetment with granular filter are in agreement with results obtained simultating model tests that were performed in the Delta Flume. The results for the revetment with a geotextile as filter could be simulated with STEENZET/1, which was not the case for comparable revetments tested in the Delta Flume. The geotextile was thicker in the revetment tested in the Large Wave Channel and this behaves as a small filter layer. Other differences between this tests and the tests in the Delta Flume are presented in the discussion.
