User manual Hydra-B : Version 3.3

This manual deals with the operation of Hydra-B, a probabilistic assessment program for dikes in tidal-river area of The Netherlands. The mathematical background of Hydra-B for calculating normative water levels, crest levels and wave conditions is described in [Geerse, 2003] and [Geerse, 2004], The background in accordance with policy is described in [Slomp et al., 2004]. In addition to calculations for normative water levels, the design of crestlevels and wave conditions for the design of revetment, Hydra-B also calculates the illustration points and the separation of the frequency over the discharge, wind directions and conditions of the flood defences. Hydra-B can also be used for calculating the discharge frequency of dike rings (except for revetment).
