Flow induced erosion of cohesive beds : a literature survey
The results of a literature survey on the physical aspects of the erosion of cohesive sediments is reported. Some attention is paid to the processes relevant for sedimentation and consolidation, as these affect the erosional behaviour of beds of cohesive sediments. The report summarizes formulae describing surface erosion of homogeneous and non-homogeneous beds, and discusses the various effects of physico-chemical parameters on erosion.
