TIGRIS 5.0: towards a new LUTI model : specifications and data inventory
In 1994 the land use model TIGIS (Transport Infrastructuur Grondgebruik Interactie Simulatie) has been developed for and was aimed at establishing the structural influence of transport infrastructure on land use. Since the development of TIGRIS a number of studies have been undertaken which proved the usefulness of the model. An update of the existing land use model TIGRIS is necessary, because in the present mode a sound foundation in economic theory is lacking. One of the aims of the update is to incorporate elements of economic theory. The update means in principle that the whole theoretical framework of TIGRIS has to be reviewed and evaluated. The update-project consists of a number of phases. This report is part of phase 1 and contains an inventory of available data resources. It first of all summarizes the requirements, which are reported as a result of a meeting between representatives of the project collaborators RAND, the Free University of Amsterdam and MuConsult. These requirements are in fact the starting point for the TIGRIS update. The model review of RAND and the description of the ?inputs from economic theory? of the Free University constitute the framework for the inventory of data sources. Since TIGRIS will be developed in the context of other related models in the Netherlands a short review of related models is added in this report. The report then provides an overview of available data sources. A more detailed overview is found in an annex in Dutch entitled "TIGRIS 5.0 : overzicht beschikbare data : bijlagerapport databronnen".
