Groundwater quality assessment and management : illustrative numerical results : Environmental risk analysis and management

The aim of this work is to present and experimentally apply a fairly general modelling and solution approach to the assessment and management of risks related to groundwater resources. Detailed numerical investigations are carried out with respect to the stochastic analysis of groundwater contamination processes, following the source - path - receptor scheme. pollution processes and their combinations are systematically studied. Several model variants for groundwater pollution source management are formulated and numerically solved. The methodology suggested allows the use of generally available user-friendly software systems.
